Harnessing wind energy

Landskrona, Sweden. ENERCON uses cutting technology from Messer Cutting Systems in the fabrication of its wind towers.

ENERCON GmbH is one of the global leaders in the wind energy sector with over 26,000 installations. The northern German company uses cutting technology from Messer Cutting Systems in the fabrication of its wind towers.

At the firm’s production facility in the southern Swedish town of Landskrona, two flame cutting machines with two triple-torch oxyfuel cutting units each ensure precise multi-layer weld preparation in one operation. A third machine with vertical oxyfuel and plasma technology is used to cut the thicker flange rings and plates of the tower base segments to size.
