Messer Cutting Systems at Schweissen & Schneiden: Optimised Processes and Integration in Focus

Duesseldorf, Germany. - Visit Messer Cutting Systems from 25th to 29th September 2017 at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN exhibition in Düsseldorf: Hall 11, Stand D38/E41.

”At the forthcoming SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in Düsseldorf we have made the widest variety of adjustments to make our product range even more attractive with an eye on ‘Industry 4.0’”, states Jörg Mosser, Director Sales & Marketing Europe. The company will be presenting the most modern cutting technology on Stand D38/E41 in Hall 11.

In various fields there are products which do not need to be presented: with sports cars it may be a three digit series, certain Smartphones waken cravings just with their name and version number, but also the Messer Cutting Systems OmniMat® and MultiTherm® enjoy near cult status in the plate processing industry. Reason enough for Messer to give both series an even more dynamic relaunch.

Tried and tested systems with an new power update

The OmniMat® is already at the apex of evolution as regards dimensions and stability: up to 7.80 metres working width, multi-lingual control, oxyfuel and plasma cutting or drilling — the equipment list matches the high demands placed on this workhorse. In the current version of this classic, multiple components have been raised simultaneously to a new level of performance. Drilling applications are increasingly often a purchase criterion so Messer Cutting Systems have added value by significantly reducing the process times. Also the mobile tool-changer on the drill reduces non-productive times considerably. For efficient, high quality plasma bevel cutting, Messer has renovated the Skew Rotator Delta and uses new power sources for plasma cutting. So that all features can still be used to the optimum, the operator gets a futuristic 24 inch touch screen — modern look and smart operation included.

It is nice when you do not have to decide for once: because whether fibre laser, plasma, oxyfuel cutting, marking or all processes combined – the MultiTherm® has them all on board. Excellent cut quality and faster cuts are clear arguments for the new MultiTherm®. Those for whom the advantages of oxyfuel cutting were important but the sometimes tedious manual preparations too much trouble, can rejoice over the inductive height sensing: it relieves the operator of several duties, calibrates and optimises the control characteristic line autonomously and matches itself to the torch. Even in multi-torch operation the system does not lose the plot and prevents torches “distracting” each other. A new belt feeder table and filter from Beuting as well as the simple connection via EtherCAT round off the innovation package for the MultiTherm® perfectly.

Behind the curtains of a Revolution

Who would not love to take a peek into the development department of the manufacturer or even exert direct influence on the innovations? To be able to get even closer to their customers’ requirements, Messer are allowing exactly that and ask its customers how the plasma bevel system, which is currently under development, could be adapted even better to the market conditions. The key points here already promise a revolutionary product for weld seam preparation – with Plasma we should add, not with Oxyfuel as in the past! Visitors can experience the unit in action here on the fair.

Live: better than the highest resolution

Messer Cutting Systems promise the complete world of oxyfuel equipment live and in colour at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN. Amongst other things, various combination torch systems for welding, brazing, heating, flame straightening and cutting will be introduced. In addition the oxyfuel experts with be presenting on the spot GRIFLAM heating technology solutions for all heating tasks from multi-function, low cost standard components right up to fully automated heating plant. A completely new and revised concept for heating systems will be celebrating its premiere here. In addition Messer Cutting Systems will be demonstrating the flame straightening kit, the electrically driven cylinder wagon and the mechanical cutting guide StableCut. Exhibition visitors may look forward to many innovative solutions and numerous demonstrations on the stand area – trying it out yourself is explicitly welcomed.

Software development has also not been sleeping, as evidenced by the multitude of new features in OmniWin and OmniBevel. With the new product OmniLink 2018 Messer Cutting Systems strides further on the sustained path in the direction of “Industry 4.0” and moves the integration of the Messer machines in business processes of its customers into the spotlight. With OmniLink the machines can, for example, be connected to an existing ERP system and the processes surrounding work preparation as well as on the machine can be optimised. Messer places emphasis here on intensive consultancy to use a dialog with the customer to work out the best solution for him. The balanced interaction of machine, software and service often opens up possibilities for increasing the efficiency or the degree of automation of your own production.

From Experts for Experts: Knowledge transfer on the spot

Messer has always cultivated dialog with its customers. So there will also be ample opportunities again at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN for experts from both sides to interact. For example, trade visitors can get on the spot information about the effects of DIN EN 1090 on steel production, about suitable products such as special nozzles from Messer Cutting Systems, or training possibilities in the Messer Academy.

“All in all we have taken on a lot for the exhibition: A comprehensive and richly diverse program informs about the current state of the art in plate processing. It makes no difference here which process is preferred – we have a suitable solution for every requirement and need. And if it is not immediately available then we will make every effort to implement it ready for production”, sums up Jörg Mosser.

Have we awakened your interest? Visit Messer Cutting Systems from 25th to 29th September 2017 at the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN exhibition in Düsseldorf: Hall 11, Stand D38/E41. Exhibition visitors will also be able to experience a live demonstration of the MetalMaster 2.0 at the stand of the company Kjellberg (Hall 13, Stand A45). The MetalMaster 2.0 from Messer Cutting Systems combines the advantages of plasma and oxyfuel cutting on one machine and offers the highest productivity in the smallest space.
